BBC’s Once Upon A Time In New York

I'm quite the fan of documentaries, especially ones that discuss music from a variety of genres. And while I've posted many documentaries on Whiteboard Journal's old site, I'm pretty sure one-or-two of you would have missed a few of those excellent shows. So I'd like to start the process of re posting each amazing documentary one-by-one, starting with . And as the title suggests, this 60 minute special delves into the street music of 1970s New York that gave birth to those three genres. Toro y Moi Performs Live In Amsterdam

Right then, another concert missed. But as this is the 21st century, I'm able to enjoy 's Amsterdam performence without having to actually be at (one of my favourite spots in Amsterdam). What's more, all of you can also enjoy the king of chillwave's performance by watching the video above, apparently recorded on a camera. His third studio album, , was released a few weeks ago.

Bad Brains – Live at CBGB 1982

I've been reminiscing about hardcore and the role that it had during my youth, and while going through Youtube looking through videos of bands that I enjoyed this live set by came up. The footage is from 1982, and by this time the DC-formed, NYC-based group has released their debut self-titled, cementing their legacy as one of the greatest hardcore bands of their era. These performance in the now defunct CBGB is legendary, as you will see., making their set a brilliant show of musicianship. What also makes the video enjoyable is how the band and the crowd just seems to be in sync with each other, it is really something you must see to believe. Enjoy the video!
