Wild Plums

The Thais may refer to their capital city of Bangkok as ‘Krung Thep’, which translates as the City of Angels, but history has it that the capital of Siam (Thailand) was home to a small trading center by the Chao Phraya River, instigating a number of Chinese traders to name the city, Bangkok, meaning ‘Village of the Wild Plums’.
