Dangdut Banget

Dangdut Banget is a DJ and collector of records from all over the world and often travels around in search of Rare Grooves. From Jazz, Funk & Soul from the US to Psychedelic Rock from Eastern Europe and Turkey, or from Colombian Cumbia to Indonesian Dangdut, any genre can have it. EXI(S)T #4 Searching for New Talents

EXI(S)T returns this year and is looking for a new batch of young artists to work together with! The premise for the fourth edition remains the same, aiming to be a platform for Jakarta artist to explore their artistic potential as an incubator for talents. Do read the description below, and do apply. -- EXI(S)T #4 Searching for New Talents After 3 succesful consecutive years of Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace's EXI(S)T program, Dia.Lo.Gue again invites young artists based in Jakarta to join in their yearly EXI(S)T program, which was first held in 2013. Here we are interested in becoming a sort of incubator for artistic potential, where critical dialogue between practitioners of art is the primary purpose. The EXI(S)T exhibition will be held in November 2015 Criterias: - Artist must be based in Jakarta - Any academic backgrounds, whether art or not, is accepted. - Not currently enrolled in university - Under 30 years of age - Send portfolio to EXI(S)T #4 to: Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace Jl. Printmaking with Agung “Agugn” Prabowo

Agung Prabowo, better known by his "Agugn" monicker, is a visual artist who works primarily with printmaking techniques, specifically linocut. Based in Bandung, Agugn has been dubbed as one of the individuals that represent the post-reformation generation of artists. His work colorful and expressive, Agugn presents many personal subjects through his art, and in this interview, we got to talk to the artist regarding his techniques and his point of view of the Indonesian contemporary art scene.

Designer’s Response: Jakarta City

ADGI (Asosiasi Design Grafis Indonesia) is a members-based organization. Now is led by Zinnia Sompie, and the team is currently preparing a lot of things including a new organizational structure, a new identity, legal, as well as a variety of collaborations with important companies such as: associations and government. To accommodate Jakarta’s members better, ADGI Jakarta is re-formed in September 2014. ADGI Jakarta are; Rege Indrastudianto as Chairman, then Fandy Susanto as Director of Communication, Max Suriaganda as Director of Programs, and Timothy Oroh as Director of Development. Jakarta chapter prepare several programs in the 2015's, of which there are designtalks, workshops, and also some exhibitions which will involve other national associations. In this gathering, ADGI Jakarta intends to promote their programs and campaign on Designer Response from 10 influencers from Jakarta. This campaign aims to aware the public about the importance of the graphic design profession as well as graphic designers aware that their role could also help advance the city of Jakarta. “What Jakarta can do through design ” Exhibition opening & Gathering The gathering in April is the 1st gathering & exhibition in 2015 prepared by the new ADGI (Asosiasi Desainer Grafis Indonesia) Jakarta chapter. In this gathering ADGI would like to introduce a few new things in their programs and some progress of the new organization to their members. As a continuation of 30 influencers campaign from ADGI Jakarta Chapter, we invite the 10 influencers to exhibit their interpretation about what designers can do to make Jakarta a better city which will be communicated via posters. Through this event we are hoping to inspire the members and public about how design could bring great impacts to the city.
