New Zealand is a tolerant society where peoples of different faith live side by side in harmony and accept each other’s different religious beliefs.

A photo exhibition – titled “Crescent Moon: The Asian Face of Islam in New Zealand” – depicts the lives of Muslim New Zealanders who are of Asian ethnicity – from Afghanistan and India to Indonesia, Malaysia and Fiji. The exhibition demonstrates the rich diversity in New Zealand’s Muslim community. The photographs are by renowned New Zealand photographer Ms Ans Westra and the text is by author Ms Adrienne Jansen.
