For many years, the debate of real vs “fake” or “MTV” emo has created a divide between emo lovers everywhere. In this episode of Emo Night, our hosts Ekky, Rega and Gia are joined by Aldy Firstanto of Seems Like Yesterday and Yudhistira of Vague / Jirapah to ask the important questions. When did “fake” emo even become a thing? and why does it create such a divide within a shared community?
