The oldest radio choir from Berlin and one of the best choirs in the world will be coming to Indonesia! Awarded three Grammy Awards (2008, 2009 and 2011) and two ECHO classic awards in 2009, the Rundfunkchor Berlin is an internationally renowned professional choir. As an ensemble with 63 permanent singers, the Rundfunkchor stages around 60 concerts annually mesmerising German and international audiences with its distinctive sound quality that combines fluidity, warmth and precision.
Together with the Paragita Choir of Universitas Indonesia (Jakarta), the Choir of Universitas Padjadjaran (Bandung) and the e Deum Voice Choir (Medan) and under the guidance of Nicolas Fink, the Rundfunkchor Berlin has prepared an ambitious programme featuring works from Schütz to Schönberg. As part of the German Season, the choir will be coming with 25 singers and the conductor Simon Halsey to join the Indonesian choirs for the major performance presentations in Jakarta, Bandung and Medan. As a special highlight of the concerts, the audience is invited to accompany the choirs for a special segment of the programme.
