March is National Film Month in Indonesia, and Whiteboard Journal thought it would be the perfect time to share some of our favorite Indonesian films of recent years. From dramas to documentaries, there are great movies being produced every year, and these are but a few that you should watch (if you haven't already done so).
While books certainly have more than enough power to unleash the powers of our imagination, there are times when we surrender our favorite stories to those who can make them come alive for us. This month, with the courtesy of Kinokuniya, we recommend 10 novels that have been interpreted to accommodate the big screen.
Always an intriguing personality, Whiteboard Journal had the opportunity to visit Nia Dinata in Kalyana Shira, an independent film production house she co-founded. With Athina Ibrahim as host, we asked her questions regarding public conception of her works and some of the projects she is currently working on.
