Para atlet e-sports yang juga merupakan Bunnies mungkin merasa bahwa mereka hidup di era yang tepat:  Riot Games secara resmi telah bermitra dengan NewJeans untuk anthem tahunan League of Legends World Championship.

Jika kolaborasi ini dirasa out-of-place, sebetulnya tidak karena ini bukan kali pertama Riot Games menggaet musisi-musisi yang sesuai zaman untuk menjadi bagian dari mereka. Misalnya, Porter Robinson sempat bekerja sama dengan Riot untuk rilisan 2022, Lil Nas X untuk anthem League of Legends World Championship 2022, sampai grup K-pop virtual, K/DA, untuk kejuaraan 2020.

Berjudul “Gods”, lagu ini menandai NewJeans sebagai K-pop pertama yang memimpin anthem Worlds.

“It was a new experience for all of us,” sebut para anggota NewJeans. “It was fun to try a new genre and sound. Through this collaboration, we are happy to present a song that incorporates both NewJeans’ and League of Legends’ unique colors. We hope it brings you a new sense of empowerment,” tutupnya.

Seperti yang terlihat di atas, “Gods” sebetulnya sudah diunggah ke YouTube, namun masih berbentuk upcoming. Lagu ini akan premiere secara resmi pada 4 Oktober 2023 melalui platform streaming dan YouTube, seminggu sebelum turnamen e-sports League of Legends dimulai.
