Wonder Woman was all the rage at the movies this year! Now catch the Filipino version – in drag no less! ZsaZsa Zaturnnah is a superheroine flick unlike anything you have seen before.
Ada (aka Adrian) leaves Manila with his cousin Aruba after yet another heartbreak. After relocating his beauty parlour and life, Ada befriends an assembly of quirky personas (Didi the assistant, Dodong the secret lover, Dodong’s brother Poldo, romance archrival Krystal and uncanny couple Aling Britney and Mang Justin). After ingesting a meteorite, Ada is reborned as a superheroine, ZsaZsa Zaturnnah, with superstrength and otherworldly beauty.
In the pursuit of liberty, truth, justice and loads of excellent hair coloring, she fearlessly defends her home from a giant frog, rampaging zombies and the overbearing Amazonistas from Planet X led by man-hater Queen Femina.
The screening will be followed by a post-show Q&A session with the writer Carlo Vergara.
“High art? No. High something? Most likely. Definitely worth the, um, trip.”
