I don’t think anything could possibly go wrong when badass hip hop unit De La Soul dropped the hottest single of the upcoming album earlier this month. Clearly they keep us who are not patient, waiting for their much-anticipated crowd-funded album, “And the Anonymous Nobody” with the release of 4-track EP called “For Your Pain & Suffering.” Taking hints as much as possible, they know how to market their electrifying songs within kink and nostalgic nuance over narrative package.

It took quite a long time for them to mix up some good beats and catchy lyrics as 2012 was the last time they proceed some serious tunes and even visited Jakarta for quick reppin style. The comeback album is fresher than ever with Snoop Dogg is recruited to complement the funky number “Pain” that has gospel-like tone. If Snoop’s low-key vocal haven’t gotten you hooked, the trio has come up with lined-up feature guest appearances from David Byrne, Damon Albarn, Little Dragon, 2 Chainz, Usher and more for this album.

What makes it even fun and beguiling is, if you check their latest track via official website, you’ll end up playing interactive lyric video game where you; the player, must maneuver a man holding a microphone away from lyrics and random objects that gradually slide fast across the screen to punch in over 1000 score. Suffice to say, after all this tease, I guess we need to wait a couple of months again before taking laidback time off with soulful songs made outta love by De La Soul.
