Back when Whiteboard Journal first started, Bergas Haryadita contributed this mix to W_Music. Three years later he is one of the chief contributor to its content! Here is what Bergas had to say about this mix he titled N.G.A.D.M.I.X.
When WHITEBOARD JOURNAL asked me to do a mix, i felt so honoured and really happy that i can share my music to a whole new audience….hopefully. This particular mix is really a dedication to my friend Mo Morris the man, the mystery and the talented musician behind the band A MOUNTAIN OF ONE. Some of the songs in this mix were introduced to me by him and he even give me those records which i now cherish hopefully for the rest of my life!
The opening tune on this mix is taken from the newest A MOUNTAIN OF ONE- INSTITUTE OF JOY E.P which properly titled. Hail Pleasure, a blissed drum chanting Cozy Powel style!!! Anyway, A MOUNTAIN OF ONE just released a new album which is out now called INSTITUTE OF JOY, and they will be touring Europe and Japan pretty soon. Who knows they might be coming to Jakarta someday hehehehe
Until then get their new album or if you are lucky, their first album is also something to die for =)
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the mix and thank you again for having me!!!
A Mixtape named Tinggi, this Chandra Drews aka Ffonz-made mix includes A tiny toke of Zappa, a large dose of Japan’s Flower Travellin’ Band, a nice roll of Bandung’s very own Shark Move, a good measure of Funkadelic with a healthy amount of African fuzz, West Papuan psych funk and Turkish psychedelia on the side. Top it all off with Harry Roesli’s posse & tripped out hip-hop and hopefully you’ve got yourself a good listen.
