Jirapah x Heru Admadja on Studiorama Session

With Studiorama premiering its new concept in less than 24 hours, the collective of music enthusiasts have revealed their third collaboration video featuring Jirapah and Heru Admadja. Heru's concept revolves around lighting, having an assortment of standing lamps flickering on and off through out Jirapah's performance. The song the band performs, Sol, is a new one, and insider information (in my head) tells us that a recorded version will make its way on to a physical release soon! Enjoy the video!

Studiorama #4

It has been almost a year since we last heard the name Studiorama, but the collective filled with music fans and artists have returned in a big way to present to you the 4th Studiorama. The group's mission is still the same, to bring to your attention musical acts that have too long been under the radar, but this time they are taking it to the next level. First is the addition of the Studiorama Sessions, a live performance video series we have been posting about for the past couple of days, and secondly is the move to a new venue. In attempt to have make a better quality show, the group has opted for an admissions fee of 35,000 (which includes a first drink). Do make your way to Koi Kemang Saturday to watch Studiorama's 4th curated music event featuring Kracoon, Spacesystem, and Jirapah.

Come Here Cambo

My love affair with Cambodian music started by listening to Dengue Fever many moons ago. Through them, I was introduced to the wonderful world of Cambodian psychedelic rock, pop, and folk that was flourishing before the Khmer Rouge. Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea are two of the most prominent and prolific artists of their time along with Pan Ron, Houy Meas, and other artists that made it into this compilation. Sadly, most, if not all, of these talented musicians disappeared during the reign of Khmer Rouge. Such a tremendous loss for the country's most treasured talents. Come Here Cambo serves as a homage to the eclectic Cambodian sound in the 60's and 70's, in addition to Dengue Fever rounding off the selection by covering Genjer Genjer, a controversial Indonesian song relating to communism back in the days. 01. Sra Mouy Keo (A Glass of Wine) - Ros Sereysothea 02. Chnam Oun Dop-PramMuy (I'm 16) - Ros Sereysothea 03. Jam 10 Kia Tiet / Wait Ten More Months - Ros Sereysothea 04. Kracoon x Tao on Studiorama Sessions

Studiorama Sessions return with another episode featuring Kracoon (formerly known as CAVES) collaborating with their friend, Tao (who is apparently a green haired mannequin, or is she?). Always a mystery, we see Kracoon covered from head to toe performing Nex Soft in a familiarly brightly colored Kracoon set. Their music and art definitely translate well into the Studiorama Sessions format. Click and enjoy the video.

Spacesystem x J.Grim on Studiorama Sessions

As the folks in Studiorama are getting ready to introduce their new event concept (Saturday, March 6th at Koi Kemang, foks!) they have invited the three performers (Spacesystem, Kracoon, Jirapah) to collaborate with artists to create a video performance. The first one to be released is this collaboration between Spacesystem and J.Grim. Watch Spacesystem perform Suburban Birds, a song that musically really does evoke images of its name, while splashes of colors projected on a wall and subtle editing create a serene video experience. There is also a short interview in the beginning of the video with the group sharing their philosophy on music and their collaboration with J.Grim. Good stuff, click and enjoy the video!
