Arifin C. Noer was a multi-talented artist. As a literary figure, he was a prolific writer from a young age. On the theater stage, together with Teater Ketjil, Arifin ordained himself as a reformer. His theater works masterfully combines modern and traditional theater elements. He remains an important figure in the Indonesian film industry.
Sapardi Djoko Damono and Yudi Ahmad Tajudin will discuss Arifin’s works from their own viewpoints. Not only on the plays themselves, but also on how these plays have influenced Indonesian modern art after the Maestro’s passing more than two decades ago.
