The Hague Percussion (Slagwerk Den Haag) is Asko|Schönberg’s partner. Since its founding in 1977, the musicians of The Hague Percussion (Slagwerk Den Haag) have focused on performing and developing contemporary percussion music in its most diverse forms. Its noticeable open character and its enormous diversity are achieved through continuous research on the limits of organized sound, heterogeneous programming, as well as collaborations with other composers, ensembles and disciplines (dance, theater, visual arts).
The Hague Percussion has had worked with internationally acclaimed festivals like Bang on a Can Festival (New York) and Holland Festival (Amsterdam); composers Guo Wenjing, Louis Andriessen, Michael Gordon, Seung-Ah Oh, and Steve Reich; musicians like Steven Schick and Bozzini Quartet; as well as dance companies like the National Dutch Ballet and Club Guy & Roni.
The Hague Percussion has performed in all European countries, the United States, the Middle East, Japan, and Korea. Now The Hague Percussion will perform a number of works by Steve Reich, Javier Alvarez, Guo Wenjing, Mayke Nas, and Louis Andriessen-Martijn Padding.
