Every year, a jury of renowned experts chooses the best German photo books. Photographers, journalists, curators, designers and photo book sellers give awards for the quality of photography and the overall esthetic impression of a book. Special technical achievements and contributions to the history of photography are also awarded. For more than 30 years, these awards are given by the German Publisher’s Association, Chapter Baden Wuerttemberg (Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, Landesverband Baden Württemberg).

The Goethe-Institut shows the exhibition for the fourth year now in Jakarta and Bandung. After the exhibition, a selection of the books will be available to the public at Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara and Goethe-Institut Jakarta.
