Jakarta’s Yummy Underbelly

Yeah I’m back! For anyone who remotely cares, I’ve been back in Indonesia for the past month hence the glaring absence of posts on my part. Yet my last trip was a blast. Besides tying the proverbial knot with my long-time girlfriend (awwww), I managed to walk away with great music from the many promising acts that form Jakarta’s burgeoning underground music scene. So what’s the first thing I do upon my return? Make a 30 minute-mix of a few of those acts that caught my attention of course. This particular mix is dominated by Space System, a duo who are responsible for making some of the most original sounds I’ve heard coming out from Jakarta in a while. Thanks a bunch to Ken Jenie and Aryo Adhianto for providing the tunes. And please try and ignore the dodgy mixing on my behalf.
