During the past four decades G.I. JOE established itself as the single greatest brand in the history of boys’ toys. The inspiration for the term “Action Figure.” G.I. JOE introduced boys to a new way to play before the electronic games era of course. The G.I. Joe trademark has been used by Hasbro to title two different toy lines. The original 12-inch line that began in 1964 centered around realistic action figures. In 1982, the line was relaunched in a 3 3/4-inch scale complete with vehicles, playsets, and a complex background story involving an ongoing struggle between the G.I. Joe Team and the evil Cobra Command. Personally I prefer the original, and not the new version, nothing like the original (60’s) or maybe the 80’s (3 3/4″) I think they lost those realistic looking weapons, vehicles and uniforms… Do you remember those good ol’ days???
