From the many tenants that participated in this Brighspot Market, we took the time to talk with a few of the designers during the opening party of Brightspot Market. The designers include, Bitha (STAB), Rama-Dana-Liza (Danjyo Hiyoji), Carline Darjanto & Ria Sarwono (Cotton Ink), Muqliza (Sou Brette), Sanchia (PoeiOei), Nina & Steph (This Is A Love Song), Nina (Nikicio), Resida (Since Always) and Melissa Sunjaya (Tulisan).
During the conversation, all the designers conveyed their enthusiasm in participating in this Brightspot Market. Especially for the duo Nina & Steph (This Is A Love Song) that impressively came all the way from Bali, being part of Brightspot Market is a first experience for them. Other than showcasing their own design for their label This is a Love Song that specifically focuses on pocket T-shirt, they also carry Rotten Fresh’s clothing line, which also is a media in Bali that has previously been reviewed at Whiteboard Journal.
Sanchia with her brand Poei Oei has showcased their new summer 2010 collection named “Totem”, with its booth being decorated with the feel of Tiki statues that compliments the collection of bags. While Danjyo Hiyoji made a bold statement with their attractive and decorative booth.
In the midst of the crowd of the first day, Resida took the time to explain shortly about her new line Since Always, featuring the wrap pants and Bitha, warmly presented her latest STAB collection ‘Pleated Pocket Jacket’ that features pastel colorway with details of the pockets when folded.
And even though it was only the first day of the Brightspot Market, the regular anticipated labels as Cotton Ink and Nikicio were never strayed from any buyers.
