R Yuki Agriardi is a talented young artists/designers that graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung back in 2007. I’ve known Yuki’s works back in Frames and at that time i remembered what fascinate me most about his works was that there’s a certain child-like innocence yet definitely wisecracking as well. His style mostly blends things he observed in his daily life, imagination, childhood adventurous-memories and his interest in animals.

And for this week ‘Gimme 5‘, we asked Yuki to give us 5 things he can’t live without.

1. a sketchbook and a pencil
I got a rack of sketchbooks which I collected since I was in high school. I could spend a whole day with my sketchbook and a pencil doodling or sketching up some ideas. It was like a written life journey (even though i did more drawing rather than writing) , and it really works when you try to find some old ideas, which sometime fits your need today. I can’t leave home without it.

2. Animal’s life
it’s really nice to observe how prolific our nature is, and animals are one of my biggest inspiration things in life. the relationship between humans and animals, animals and animals, in term of the status of animals and obligation of people really made me think and inspiring in its very own way.

3.Carpentry tools
I’m not a good carpenter, even more, I don’t deserve to be called carpenter. cause carpentry is a hardworking job which need skill and a place where experiences do counts. but for the loved of woodworking and its tools, it always made me excited every time I got some woodworking project. (and it was a really good way to spend your weekend too).

4.Fruits
it always freshen’ up your life.
