The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this vicious-looking smartphone was “Shit, the pre-crime era is near.” Everyone, this is the First Else from an Israeli company called Else, and it’s definitely not a random somebody else. I’m not gonna say that this phone would be the real contender of that phone which has an app for everything. First Else promises something else, something that could change the game.
The phone has a 3.5-inch 854 x 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 5-megapixel camera which is capable for recording 480p video at 30fps. A 1450 mAh battery, up to 32GB internal memory, 3G HSDPA and TI OMAP 3430 processor (like the one found on iPhone 3GS) are powering this phone up to work for you. First Else also comes with 3.5mm headphone jack, so you could plug in your Grado cans and walk proud.
Here is where the ultimate power of this phone lays, its software, Intuition OS. It’s Linux based, it’s powerful and it will make you feel like you’re John Anderton. It’s trying to put the traditional main menu to rest, in peace, with its “sPlay”. sPlay enables you to navigate to almost every main feature of this phone with only a swipe of your right thumb, yes right thumb, the very thumb you use when you plead for a hitchike. It has location aware reminders, can record voice calls/messages and store them along with when the call was made. You can flip the phone downside up to use it as a voice recorder.
