An aggressive stab, a shrieking cry for help of the mammals and an ocean full of blood, this is a considerable act of normalcy for the dolphin slaughters in the province of Taijin, Japan. A devastating exposed truth that you only find in the documentary: The Cove. Surprised as you are, this is not the only massive killing mammal going on. In Faroe Island, which is an autonomous region in Denmark, it is reported that approximately 950 Long Pinned Pilot Whales are killed, annually. They do this, because it has been part of their staple diet for centuries. There is a raging debate between the citizens and organizations of animal rights about whether the pilot whale hunt represents a significant threat to pilot whale populations, their defense is that is has been part of their tradition. But the fact they look at this act of massive killing as celebration that even involve kids is still disturbing anyhow. The pictures below is bound to make you cringe.
Do you think this non-humane ‘celebration’ should be a tradition to be preserved?
