Though i never played with one, I’m pretty sure Barbie has been played by most of the chics i unsuccessfully tried to date to this very day Anyway, back to the news, Barbie, the 51-year-old icon is once again getting a designer makeover, this time to coincide with the launch of Barbie Basics Doll collection. Mattel had 12 top CFDA, that’s Council of Fashion Designers of America for you, designers to dress the dolls in their own inimitable style. Tory Burch, Philip Crangi, Kate Spade’s Deborah Lyyod, Lorraine Schwartz, Isaac Mizrahi, Rachel Roy, Monica Botkier, Justin Giunta, Albertus Swanepoel, Betsey Johnson and Alexis Bittar all added their unique touch to the dolls. Each of these one-of-a-kind dolls will then be auctioned off on Ebay, with proceeds benefiting the CFDA Foundation and the organization’s scholarship and educational programs. The auction goes live on January 28th at 10pm EST and will run through February 7th. So if you’re a Barbie avid collector, what are you waiting for? go bid here, i know i will, there’s this girl….
