Today is the final draw of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which goin to be held in South Africa, yes it might be still 6 months away from now but at the very least let’s all say hello to Adidas “JABULANI”, the official match ball for the competition which was unveiled today as well. The Adidas Jabulani, which means “To Celebrate” in Bantu language isiZulu, features the newly developed “Grip’n'Groove” technology which provides an exceptionally stable flight and perfect grip under all conditions. With only eight thermally bonded 3-D panels (the 2006′s ball used 14), which are spherically molded, making the ball rounder and more accurate than ever. Following the first test of the ball, players are enthusiastic about the Jabulani with Ballack saying “Fantastic, the ball does exactly what i want it to.” and Kaka adding “For me, contact with the ball is important, and that’s just great with this ball.”
For the design aspect of the ball there’re 11 colors used in the Adidas Jabulani, which represents the 11 players in every team, the 11 official languages of South Africa and the 11 South African tribes that makes the country one of the most ethnologically diverse countries in the African continent. This colorful design brings together the tremendous diversity of the country in harmonious unity. Here’s for hoping that Italy won’t screw up their chances of retaining the World Cup, if they do, i shall supports Spain then. For more information about the ball, go here.
