As boring as it sounds, Italian fashion scene has been all about branding, except for A-Lab Milano. With different backgrounds, the team put forward art and history, not trends or marketing strategy. A-Lab Milano consists of leader and art director, Alessandro Biasi, Simona Costa, and Andrea Orazi. They marked this season with fashion shows in both Milan and Paris.

I love the fresh take on earth tones of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Cinematic dark forest was displayed behind and the models’ heads were wrapped with root-like braided hairs. Watch out for the mix of tailored jackets and light draped dresses, and especially the black leaves print on nude chiffon with diminutive crinoline.
