
Mecca and the constant changes has become a very crowded place to visit, it has a become a place where all the Muslims across the world celebrate Eid al-Adha. The Journey of a photographer for more than sixty day at Mecca during the Hajj season 1430H are summarized into one book containing 138 photos that showcases the other side of Mecca, titled “The Other Side of Makkah“. The visual documentation of this trip does not only summarize the Ka’bah and the Hajj pilgripms in general, it documents every corner of the city, and the daily life over there with all the changes from time to time, starting from the quiet streets before the pilgrims come to town to the point where it becomes extremely crowded filled with a sea of people during the peak season of Hajj, then back again to the empty streets.
The launching of photography book The Other Side of Makkah will be preceded by a photographic exhibition, which will display the 30 best photos from the book.

Photographic exhibition and book launch will be inaugurated by Minister for Religious Affairs, Mr. Suryadharma Ali and Director of ANTARA News Agency, Mr. Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf. The event will be livened up by Ratna Listy and appearance of angklung by The School childrens scavengers, which also invites 100 orphans to break their fast and share together in this Ramadhan month.
