Shadow Puppets is a group consisting of Irsa Destiwi (piano), Robert Mulyarahardja (guitar), Indrawan Tjhin (bass), and Yusuf Shandy Satya (drums). They first met in a jazz workshop in Jakarta in late 2009. This encounter created instant compatibility between them and they began to make music together. With a diverse background – Irsa with a background in classical music education and experiences in the music industry, Robert and Indrawan that recently graduated in the studies of Jazz music and Shandy with natural talent – Shadow Puppets to display a new voice in Indonesia’s music scene. Their composition is presented in a variety of styles, ranging from a straightforward bebop to folk, full of nuanced improvisation. In this concert, Shadow Puppets will play their own work.
