
Regent Kotabulus must build a Nursing Home Care for the Mental Victims of Corruption in its territory, in accordance with Law No..261 of the Mental Treatment Victims of Corruption. On the occasion of the third anniversary of the Nursing Home known as “Pan-Dol” a.k.a Panti Idol, the Regent received the National Award for Caring for the Nation, as a founder of the Nursing home which is now bigger and more famous. However, there are many corrupter included in (or detained) at Pan-Dol, because nursing is considered to be a place of protection so they would not be dragged into court. They are shown as if they were victims of corruption, or the corrupter was precisely portrayed as a victim of the culture of corruption. The Play “Pan-Dol” is a creative attempt to respond to the phenomenon of corruption Gandrik Theatre in Indonesia with a unique style, naughty, hilarious, sembrana parikena, and full of parody.
Since its establishment 12 September 1983 until now, Gandrik Theatre has had a long history – especially when compared to most theater groups in Indonesia. Gandrik Theatre is a group of Indonesian contemporary theater that can process the form and spirit of the traditional theater with staging-style of modern theater.
The dialogue in this show uses the Indonesian language. The creative team staging “Pan-Dol” consists of Jujuk Prabowo, Heru Kesawa Murti, Butet Kartaredjasa, Djaduk Ferianto, and Agus Noor. Pementsaaan “Pan-dol” is supported by Djarum Super on Art, BCA, Telkomsel, Tempo, Tempo, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta Now, and FAR Magazine.
