In collaboration with The Korean Society of Fashion Business, LASALLE fashion lecturer and curator Circe Henestrosa and professor of textile art and fashion design at Hongik University Kan Ho-sup presents FantAsia, an exhibition of contemporary fashion showcasing the works of 50 extraordinary fashion designers from Singapore and South Korea. FantAsia explores the imagination and creativity of these designers through their interpretation of fashion today. Fashion exhibitions in museums have become very popular in recent years and FantAsia brings the fashion debate to the museum space in Singapore showing the work of these designers at LASALLE’s gallery spaces.
Three different spaces are filled with the next cream of the crop in the Asian fashion industry. Each spaces has a different theme: “Future Dreams” brings the most avant-garde precision cuts in garment-making, “Endless Summer” sums up the whimsical clean-cut tailoring both presenting the Singaporean local talents and finally, fashion professors from South Korea brings in their vision in what their fashion is like in the Brother Joseph McNally Gallery.
This proves that the Asian fashion industry is not to be neglected as they’re climbing the ladder of recognition in the fashion industry worldwide.
