It’s official now, the much anticipated Oscar nominations for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards has been announced. The Oscar will take place on March 7th with Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin both co-hosting the show. It will be a historical event as this is the first time the Oscar has 10 nominees, for The Best Picture category, instead of the usual 5. This change was taken to ensure it will give more exposure to other movies that have been great for the year instead of the usual 5 which almost always is also nominated for the Best Director category. On the other side, it will also be a battle of the exes as Avatar (James Cameron) and Hurt Locker (Kathryn Bigelow), both lead the race with 9 nominations.
