Die Antwoord is an art project of Cape Town based Waddy Jones (MC Ninja) together with Yo-Landi Vi$$er and Dj Hi-Tek. Their latest invention, a 3 piece over-the-top chav rap group (or Zef in Afrikaans), has taken the Internet by storm for the past 2 weeks. Since February 1, the group released a video that became a viral phenomenon on the Internet, delivering millions of hits to the official Die Antwoord website, eventually crashing the website’s server. They’ve also shot ahead of established acts on Google Trends.

This spring/summer, Die Antwoord is ready to tour France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, The US and Australia. They plan to perform in Amsterdam in mid April though the dates are yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned to Whiteboard Journal to check out a full report on this gig.
