Just at the same time that I’ve been hooked on Cee-Lo Green’s (of Goodie Mobb, OutKast and Gnarls Barkley fame) debut solo album, Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections from 2003, the Atlanta native has released a viral video sensation, F**k You. Released on Thursday (19 August), it has racked over 2 million views since.
And it’s quite easy to see why. The video is strikingly simple yet effective. The blend of jolly funk and lyrics scathing female golddiggers is damn well refreshing and hilarious. Even prancing gangsta boy 50-cent joined in the fun by posting his own remix – a ‘reply’ to Cee-Lo’s rant on the original.
Cee-Lo Green’s 5th solo album ‘Lady Killers’ will be released on October 4.
