
Advertising, both the devil’s tool and err..Satan’s tool? OK, well I’m maybe just pointing one of the extreme sides of advertising. Although advertising is frequently looked down upon for being seen as too gimmicky , as in it’s full of trash for the sake of ’selling’. No one can deny that advertising is still one the most powerful tools of communication there is. Without advertising KFC would just be your average fried chicken joint, and not the ‘finger-lickin good’ fried chicken that we know in our mind. Regardless of the slogan, I still feel KFC is one of the best fried chicken ever invented. But you understand my point right? advertising is so powerful that it has its way to shift peoples perception. This is what’s explored by the creators of ‘Art & Copy‘, maybe it’s a bit too late to post this, but I feel this film is still worth the discussion. One of the officially selected film in the 2009 Sundance film festival, this film is about the power of advertising and how they state that ‘creativity can solve anything‘ and you know what? I think they’re right.
