I saw these clever kiosks last year on my visit to Singapore, but why oh why it took so long for me to post it up, in all honesty, i just don’t remember till i saw Yatzer put it up. Anyway, the 360° kiosks were conceived back in 2007, designed by Studio SKLIM led by Beijing architect Kevin Lim, located on a pier at the former site of the Merlion Sculpture before it was moved to Merlion Park. I really appreciates Studio SKLIM for reusing the existing canopy structures as the base for the design without sacrificing their structural integrity, the design also provides a minimum footprint as well as maximum flexibility. Each unit consists of four cantilevered units for seating, display, storage and lighting, which can be individually set by the vendors. Here’s hoping for more clever design, like this, appear more often.
