British photographer Martin Parr’s Small World explores the emergence of the tourism era in the late 1980’s. An era when wealth was globally increasing and living lavishly by traveling was starting to become a common scene. That’s when Martin Parr started his own examination of that phenomenon, travelling to take instead photographs of tourist in cultural sites, and further exploring the contrast of western cultures meeting eastern cultures and vice versa.
The result is a series of amusing and funny images of tourist acting quite the same in the front of the camera.
