Kyouei Design personifies the word innovative, functional with a flair of quirkiness. The industrial designer Kouichi Okamoto ensures his design stand for a “minimum of necessity” that is, he doesn’t over think his designs but at the same time is able to produce design pieces that are able to create a stir of astonishment in the masses. My personal favorites would be the Topography plate, designed to imitate a mountain, in which using it gives a feel of a giant overcasting a lake, of well, possibly just soup. but it’s the feeling that counts right?
