With all the hype around the “A|X’s Garuda” t-shirt, it’s nice to stumble upon something else than that when looking for something Garuda-related. It’s even better when you stumble upon something as beautiful as this little short about a child chasing it’s dream, titled “Garuda“. Created by groups of students at French animation school Gobelins for the Annecy Festival Openings back in 2008. Yes it’s old news but then again, it won’t hurt to view it one more time, for the visuals in the film are totally stunning; filled with all kinds of wonderful colors and textures. Credits goes to Nicolas Athane, Meryl Franck, Alexis Liddell, Andres Salaff, Maïlys Vallade, who were all students at Gobelins. I’d love to see a full-feature film using the same animation style like this.
