Born in the stadium, cut for the street is the precise definition of Nike Sportswear. As explained by Nino Priambodo, Marketing Manager for Nike Indonesia, Nike Sportswear was originally made to boost the athlete’s performances before finally emerging as an urban wear to enhance one’s look and lifestyle.

On February, 1st 2011, an exclusive media gathering was held at The Goods Department to launch Nike Sportswear Spring Collection 2011. Hosted by Leonardo Ringgo – who enthusiastically explained Nike to be his first ever sport shoes – the launch includes a talk by two renowned figures, Whiteboard Journal’s own Max Suriaganda, also the co-founder of sneaker website Footurama.com and Anindita Syaruf, Fashion Editor of Elle Magazine, as well as vocalist of the band Santamonica. The objective of the talk was to share to the audience their idea of fashion and how it relates to Nike Sportswear.

Anindita Syaruf shared her concept of fashion which translates as an arrangement between function, material, performance and foremost identity and self-expression, which is why she says Nike Sportswear is a physical representation of her statements, it sees through innovation as one of its core value as explained further by Max Suriaganda, what Nike Sportswear does best is in being constantly innovative, Nike uses ground breaking technology to continually reinvent itself; giving precision to its cuts, materials, and colors, to bring the optimal form and function to its wearer.

Followed after the talk was a styling session where the speakers gave tips in combining Nike Sportswear Spring Collection 2011 with different pieces of your wardrobe, spotted worn by both female models and male models (musician RAN) was the N98. The N98 track jacket has a long history of being inspired by the first kit Nike designed for Brazil’s legendary national team. Short for National 1998, this piece has been perfected by Nikesportswear, materializing double-knit for comfort, high-rise collar, and a striking color stripe that goes all the way down the sleeves.

spacer Complementing this season’s look is the V-Series running shoes that are differentiated to enhance the performance of various types of runners. Runners seeking extra stability should go for the Vector. Those seeking an light-weight cushioning to go the extra mile, should go for Vengeance. And runners seeking a stable balance between both types then the Vortex is the way to run. The V-series is a also a great classic originally released in 1980s which has been revive with the other vibrant series of this Nike Sportswear Spring 2011.
