Puri Art Gallery was the first established gallery in Malang, East Java – Indonesia in 2001, but then moved to Surabaya in 2004, and finally settling down in Jakarta in 2010. Puri was founded by dr. Purnomo Limanto, SpOG who has devoted himself into a hobby of his, which is collecting antiques and art almost his whole life.
Starting by introducing emerging artist from the region of East Java, Puri now has extend their program to embrace broader art scene and art enthusiast by exhibiting emerging Korean Artist recently. Puri has work closely with their member and representative artists. Together with their in‐house curator, Puri is creating a strong teamwork between gallery‐artist‐curator. Moreover, Pers and media have been exposing their activities regularly since the last 3 years.
Puri has actively joining both local and international Art Fair since 2009; and joins the Bazaar Art Jakarta, Korean International Art Fair, and Art Expo Malaysia in 2010. Furthermore, they also work together with other overseas galleries, and will continually doing so in order to represent our artists to bigger art scenes.
As one of the co‐founder of Art Galleries Association of Indonesia (AGSI), Puri has now extend its wings to Jakarta by joining the other 8 AGSI galleries in Jakarta Art District. Hoping that the new approach to the public will help to expose and promote artists from both East Java Region and Indonesia in general.
