You may have not heard of the guy, or recognise his face, but you’d most likely know his music, be it in the form of his supreme disco/funk/R&B band Chic, or as a producer and arranger from people as varied as David Bowie, Diana Ross or even Duran-Duran. This recent BBC4 documentary delves into the career of the NYC based musician Nile Rodgers, from his funk and disco youth up to his hit-making powers as a producer in the 1980s.
